On March 10, 2026, China's government work report proposed fostering and developing future industries such as 6G. Meanwhile, the 6G Industry Salon held in Shanghai revealed that the global development path for unified 6G standards has basically taken shape, with commercialization expected around 2030.

Technological breakthroughs: 6G will achieve a peak rate of 1 Tbps (10-100 times faster than 5G), reduce latency to 0.1 milliseconds, reach a connection density of 10 million devices per square kilometer, and integrate communication, perception, and AI capabilities. Base stations will be able to independently complete environmental detection and intelligent computing.
Application scenarios: Fields such as telemedicine (0.1-millisecond latency ensuring surgical precision), autonomous driving (centimeter-level perception for obstacle avoidance), smart cities (full-domain monitoring), and holographic communication (immersive interaction) will undergo transformations.
China's progress: It has completed the first phase of 6G technical trials, formed over 300 key technology reserves, and holds 40.3% of global patents, ranking first. The second phase of trials focuses on the integration of technical solutions and the development of prototypes, with plans to achieve commercialization by 2030.
Global layout: The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is expected to release 6G standards in 2030. China is in a leading position in standard-setting and industrial ecosystem building, advancing the commercialization process in sync with Europe, the United States, Japan, South Korea, and other countries.
